Step 2.

Take one of these two sections and using your sectioning comb or clip, draw a line at the bottom of the hair making a straight section of hair about 2cm – 1inch thick.

Twist the remaining hair downwards, and then clip up securely above where you are working.

Repeat for the other side.  You should now have a straight 2cm – 1inch thick section of hair going along the nape of the neck.

Step 3.

Take a 2cm – 1inch section of the hair you have left loose and divide it into two. Clip the rest of the hair to one side if it helps to keep it out of the way while you work.
